A super easy and delicious side dish that will make you love Brussels sprouts.
Ingredients
- 500 g Brussels sprouts, washed and halved
- 200 g grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 teaspoons butter
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Handful of fresh zaatar leaves
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Dried parsley and fresh thyme or oregano (to taste)
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
Method
- 1)
Boil Brussels sprouts in a large pot of salted boiling water for 5 to 6 minutes.

Drain and quickly rinse with cold water to stop cooking; then dry them.
- 3)
In a large bowl, season the cooked Brussels sprouts with onion, garlic and parsley powder, fresh herbs, salt, and pepper.

Melt butter and mix it with olive oil; line a large oven-proof dish with nonstick baking paper.
- 5)
Drizzle the olive oil and butter mixture in the dish; top with grated Parmesan.
- 6)
Place Brussels sprouts cut side down on top of Parmesan.
- 7)
Lightly brush Brussels sprouts with the remaining olive oil.
- 8)
Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C until golden and bubbly.
- 9)
Optional: Use the broiler for the last few minutes for an extra crisp.
- 10)
Top with more grated Parmesan and fresh zaatar before serving as a delightful side dish.
