A chocolate cake made with only 2 ingredients? Is it possible? I saw this recipe on social media and I had to try it. I think the secret is not to over bake it and not to have super high expectations. Hehehe. Serve it with some cream and caramel for a more indulgent dessert.

Ingredients

  • 5 large eggs, separated
  • 200g dark chocolate
  • Pinch of salt
  • Nonstick baking paper
  • Cocoa powder for dusting

Method

  • 1)

    Preheat the oven to 180°C and line an 8-inch baking pan with nonstick baking paper.

  • 2)

    In a clean bowl, whisk the egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff peaks form.

  • 3)

    In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks and melt the dark chocolate. Let the chocolate cool slightly before mixing it with the egg yolks.

  • 4)

    Carefully fold the egg yolk and chocolate mixture into the whipped egg whites, ensuring not to deflate the mixture.

  • 5)

    Transfer the combined mixture into the prepared baking pan.

  • 6)

    Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes or until the soufflé is set and has a light, airy texture.

  • 7)

    Allow the soufflé to cool, then dust the top with cocoa powder for an extra touch.

  • 8)

    Slice, serve, and enjoy.

    Note: Don’t overmix when combining the egg whites and chocolate mixture to maintain the cake’s light texture.
