This toasted markouk sandwich is perfect for midnight snacking and Suhoor! You’ll have this melted cheesy, spicy, crispy snack in no time. The compact panini maker and grill by @russellhobbsgcc heats up fast and is easy to clean—making it the ultimate tool for late-night cravings. And then straight back to bed!
Ingredients
- 1 large markouk bread
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 4-5 slices basterma
- 2 eggs
- ¼ tsp cumin
- A pinch of salt
- ½ cup mozzarella, grated
- 1 tbsp mayonnaise

Method
- 1)
In a pan over medium heat, scramble the eggs with cumin and salt until just set. Remove from heat.
- 2)
Spread Dijon mustard over the folded markouk bread.
- 3)
Layer the basterma slices, followed by the scrambled eggs, and then sprinkle the grated mozzarella on top.
- 4)
Fold the bread into a square parcel, enclosing the filling. Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise on the outside.
- 5)
Place the parcel in the Russell Hobbs panini maker and grill and toast until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- 6)
Cut into four pieces and serve hot.
