The Oriental rice (for the lamb shoulder). A great recipe to transform leftover ready cooked rice into a fragrant side dish fit for a feast!

Ingredients

  • 1 large carrot
  • 1 large onion Grate then sauté in olive oil
  • In 1 cup of boiling water, add:
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp dry coriander
  • 3 strands saffron
  • 1 tsp Kanz spices @kanz.beitelbaraka
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom

Method

  • 1)

    Mix into 2 cups of cooked rice

  • 2)

    Then add to the onion and carrot mixture.

  • 3)

    Mix gently to combine then cover and cook together on low fire until all the water is absorbed.

  • 4)

    Fluff with a fork and serve with lamb or meat of your choice. Eid Mubarak!
