If you have a little amount of leftover whipping cream and don’t know what to do with it, place it in a jar (make sure that its really cold) and shake it for a few minutes. You will end up with butter!
Ingredients
- Place leftover whipping cream in a jar (make sure that its really cold)
- shake it for a few minutes

Method
- 1)
Place your cold leftover whipping cream (35% fat) in a jar fitted with a tight lid.
- 2)
Shake vigorously for a few minutes until you feel a firm taking place and separating from a liquid.
- 3)
This is the butter and some buttermilk! When the butter has formed, avoid shaking more as the mixture could get ruined.
- 4)
Now rincé with cold drinking water until it runs clear.
- 5)
Place on a parchment paper and roll.
- 6)
You can add salt or herbs or any other spice or flavoring- you can even add vanilla! Chill until ready to use.
- 7)
You can use it to bake, cook or eat.
