Whenever I have leftover cooked kafta, I love making kafta sandwiches with pickles, roast potatoes and hummus bi tahini. You can also have it with ketchup and fried potatoes! It reminds me of my childhood. I bought the kafta meat ready seasoned from @alkarambutchery and we cooked it at home. Find below the instructions for the kafta bake.

Ingredients
- 1 kg lean beef kafta, shaped into patties
- 2 medium onions, thinly sliced
- 500 gr of tomato passata
- 1/2 cup of hot water
- Salt and pepper to taste

Method
- 1)
We like to roast potatoes separately in the air frier so they don’t get soggy.
- 2)
In a large oven proof tray, drizzle some olive oil and place the kafta patties.
- 3)
Top with slices of onion.
- 4)
Season with salt and pepper.
- 5)
In a measuring jug, mix the passata and the hot water.
- 6)
Gently pour into the tray.
- 7)
Bake in a preheated oven at 180C for 30-45min until the meat is cooked through and the sauce has thickened.
