I had to try the viral labneh sandwich with crunchy bread! When I saw the fresh delicious Lebanese dairy products from @alakhdar.dairy now available @pickitt.ae, I knew: the time had come! And i have to say, it was utterly delicious!
Ingredients
- 3 tsp of labneh @alakhdar.dairy
- a small piece of soft goat cheese from @alakhdar.dairy
- 1 large round Arabic bread
- dried zaatar mix
- extra virgin olive oil
- a small handful of fresh zaatar leaves
- a small handful of fresh lamb lettuce (ba’leh)
- 1/2 a small shallot, thinly sliced
- a few pitted black olives
- some sundried cherry tomatoes

Method
- 1)
Preheat your oven to 180°C.
- 2)
In a bowl, mix 3 tsp of labneh with the soft goat cheese until well combined.
- 3)
Take the large Arabic bread round and spread the Labneh and goat cheese mixture evenly on one side.
- 4)
On the other side of the Arabic bread, sprinkle Zaatar and drizzle with olive oil.
- 5)
Place the bread in the preheated oven and toast it until it becomes crispy. This should take about 5-7 minutes. Keep an eye on it to avoid burning.
- 6)
Remove the toasted bread from the oven and let it cool slightly.
- 7)
On the labneh side of the bread, add fresh zaatar leaves, lamb lettuce, sliced shallot, pitted black olives, sundried cherry tomatoes, and an extra drizzle of olive oil.
- 8)
Add the crispy bread on top of the labneh side and carefully roll the bread to create a sandwich.
- 9)
Using a sharp knife, cut the sandwich in half. Enjoy the crunch!
