The most delicious fake apple pies. Any apple dessert that reminds me of McDonald’s apple pies is a success in my books! Another super easy viral recipe that i urge you to try!
Ingredients
- 2 apples (i love Jazz)
- 230g puff pastry (i love @maisonduffour pure butter and ready rolled)
- 1/2 cup caster sugar
- 1-2 tsp pumpkin spice
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 2 tbsp cream (for egg wash)

Method
- 1)
Preheat the Oven to 220°C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- 2)
Slice then core the apples into medium (not too thin) rings.
- 3)
In a separate shallow bowl, mix the caster sugar and pumpkin spice together.
- 4)
Sprinkle the sugar and spice mixture over the apple slices, making sure they are evenly coated. Toss gently to ensure all the slices are covered.
- 5)
Cut the pastry into thin strips, about 1/2-inch wide.
- 6)
Take a strip of puff pastry and wrap it around an apple ring, slightly overlapping the edges to secure it. Repeat this with all the apple slices and pastry strips.
- 7)
In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and cream to create an egg wash.
- 8)
Place the wrapped apple rings on the prepared baking sheet. Brush each one with the egg wash, that will help to achieve a shiny finish.
- 9)
Sprinkle a bit more of the sugar and spice mixture over the top of each apple ring.
- 10)
Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 20 minutes or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
- 11)
Allow your apple pies to cool slightly before serving. They can be enjoyed warm or at room temperature. Optionally, you can serve them with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for extra indulgence.
