A couple of weeks ago, in honor of World Vegan Day, i got invited to a delectable vegan dinner at the most beautiful venue @akirabackdubai at the @wdubaipalm . The menu by super talented chef @chefgioledon was named “Looped In, A Vegan Zero Waste Dining Experience”.This dinner’s aim was to reduce food waste and use local ingredients to create a unique vegan Japanese-Korean meal, showcasing the possibilities of this culinary fusion.I thoroughly enjoyed every bite from Eringi Mushroom Pizzas, to a selection vegan nigiri sushi, the creamy Barley Risotto for mains and the rich Chocolate Truffle for dessert- that i couldn’t believe was vegan!The view is…

Continue Reading5 croissant connoisseurs (including moi and 2 frenshies) blind-tested six of the most popular croissants in the UAE. One of these six croissants was a Spinneys Artisan Croissant, retail price is 5 AED. It has a high percentage of pure butter, layers and layers of golden flaky crispy pastry on the outside, and soft tender layers in the middle. The aroma, the flavor transported us right to a bakery in France! All of these criterias made it the clear winner. Have you had a Spinneys croissant before? Continue ReadingI attended a workshop by chef @espositodimitri, the executive pastry chef at Jumeira group. The highlight of the session was French butter- my ultimate weakness and love! And waw, what a session! We made a tart with sablé breton as a base, a filling made of the silkiest, creamiest crème diplomat (made with French dairy of course), a berries and elderflower gelée and topped with fresh berries, edible flowers and lemon basil. Now imagine that the sablé breton is made using 95grs of pure French dairy butter per 125grs of flour! Can you imagine the scent? The flavor? I cant help…
