My mom asked me for a simple chocolate cake recipe to do during lockdown in Lebanon so this one automatically came to my mind. Don’t be fooled by its fancy appearance, this cake is moist, light and so delicious. It is also so easy to make.

My mom asked me for a simple chocolate cake recipe to do during lockdown in Lebanon so this one automatically came to my mind. Don’t be fooled by its fancy appearance, this cake is moist, light and so delicious. It is also so easy to make.
INGREDIENTS
- 375 grs plain flour
- 400 grs sugar
- 30 grs cocoa powder
- 20 grs (3tsp) bicarbonate of soda
- 5 grs (1tsp) salt
- 2 large eggs
- 240 ml milk , (or buttermilk)
- 240 ml oil
- 240 ml water , (or coffee)
- 1 tsp vanilla essence

METHOD
- 1)
Mix the wet ingredients in a bowl then whisk and sift the dry ingredients into another bowl.
- 2)
Now combine both and whisk until smooth. Pour into an 8” buttered and floured pan and bake at 170C for 50min.
Notes
I have included the ingredients once more below- for your convenience- and in honor of homeschooling.
