Fish pané بالخسّه!
If you feel like a comforting, junky meal yet you don’t want to compromise on your new year plans, please give these fish pané in lettuce a go! The sauces are also super simple to make and transform this dish from a quick air fryer recipe to a yummyyyy meal!

Ingredients

  • 4 fish fillets (cod, haddock, or hammour)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (i like panko)
  • 1/2 cup flour + 2 tsp Cajun or bbq spices)
  • 2 eggs
  • Salt and pepper, to season the fish

For the sauce 1

  • mayonnaise + chopped pickles + pickle water + black pepper

For the sauce 2

  • mayonnaise + sriracha + chili jam @shauce_ae • Baby gem lettuce, washed and dried

Method

  • 1)

Place the flour + spices in a shallow dish.

  • 2)

Beat the eggs in another dish.

  • 3)

Spread the breadcrumbs in a third dish, seasoning.

  • 4)

Pat the fish fillets dry, cut into chunks and season lightly with salt and pepper.

  • 5)

Dip each chunk in flour, shaking off the excess.

  • 6)

Dip the fillets into the beaten eggs, ensuring they’re fully coated.

  • 7)

Press the fillets into the breadcrumbs, coating them evenly on all sides.

  • 8)

Bake in the air fryer at 180°c until golden. Bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy.

  • 9)

Serve hot with the sauces in lettuce leaves.
