This recipe is self explanatory with just 3 ingredients + sea salt flakes, optional! It honestly tastes like like an indulgent snicker bar, but homemade and healthy.

Ingredients

  • 75 g almond chocolate
  • 6 Medjool dates, halved and flattened
  • 4-5 tsp Almond butter (i used @pipandnut)
  • 75g almond chocolate (@greenandblacks)
  • Optional: Sea salt flakes for sprinkling (@maldonsalt)

Method

  • 1)

    Melt the almond chocolate in a microwave or over a double boiler until smooth and creamy.

  • 2)

    Take each halved Medjool date and spread a small amount of almond butter on one side.

  • 3)

    Place the flattened date halves on a baking sheet or plate.

  • 4)

    Drizzle the melted almond chocolate over the almond butter, covering it entirely.

  • 5)

    If desired, sprinkle sea salt flakes over the melted chocolate for a touch of savory contrast.

  • 6)

    Place the baking sheet or plate in the refrigerator for about 15-20 minutes, or until the chocolate has hardened.

  • 7)

    Once the chocolate is set, remove the almond chocolate-covered dates from the refrigerator and serve.

  • 8)

    Enjoy your delicious almond chocolate-covered dates with almond butter, topped with melted chocolate and optionally sprinkled with sea salt flakes!
