Lebanese style! If you have ever tried them and fell in love ate any Lebanese restaurant, you will be so happy to try my way and make them at home!
Ingredients
- 250 g akkawi cheese, unsalted from @alakhdar.dairy
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp dried zaatar, @thegoodthymes
- Sheets of Filo pastry, Rashidi @pickitt.ae
- Mixture of flour and water (for gluing)
- Olive oil
Method
- 1)
Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- 2)
Grate the akkawi and mozzarella cheese and mix them together in a bowl with the dried zaatar and the egg.

Take one sheet of Filo pastry and place a tablespoon of the cheese mixture at one end of the sheet.
- 4)
Roll the sheet tightly around the cheese mixture, folding in the sides as you roll.
- 5)
Use the flour and water mixture to glue the end of the sheet to the roll.
- 6)
Repeat with the remaining sheets of Filo pastry and cheese mixture until all the cheese is used up.
- 7)
Place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 8)
Brush with olive oil.
- 9)
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the rolls are golden brown.

You can also air fry.
