If we’re lucky to safely gather with a few loved ones, have some music on, a nice simple meal, warmth and love, we are set for a great start.
I created 4 canapés recipes using delicious European butter. It is a 100% natural and a great flavor enhancer. The ingredients are simple, but put together, they create flavors that are gastronomical!

I created 4 canapés recipes using delicious European butter. It is a 100% natural and a great flavor enhancer. The ingredients are simple, but put together, they create flavors that are gastronomical!
These delicious butters made using French butter can be prepared a few days in advance, making your preparations a lot easier.
Ingredients
Shrimp + curry paprika butter- with cumin seeds & parsley.
- About 12 medium shrimps, peeled and deveined.
- 1 tbsp cumin seeds
- 1-2 tbsp chopped parsley
- 150 grs of unsalted butter, softened
- Bread of choice
2: Salmon + lemon zest mustard oregano butter- with capers.
- 150 grs of unsalted butter, softened
- 1 pack of smoked salmon (about 200grs)
- 1 small jar of capers.
- Dijon mustard
- Fresh oregano
- 1 lemon
3: Anchovies butter sun-dried tomatoes with goats cheese - zaatar (oregano)
- 150 grs of unsalted butter, softened
- 100 grs crumbly goats cheese
- About 5 pcs of sundried tomatoes, chopped
- 1 small jar of anchovies in oil
- 1 tsp dried zaatar, Lebanese mix style
- Melba crackers
- Micro greens
- 150 grs of unsalted butter, softened
- 100 grs Comté cheese, finely grated
- Handful of baby rocket
- Handful of green zaatar
- Handful of pitted black olives
- Water crackers
- Micro greens
Method
Shrimp + curry paprika butter- with cumin seeds & parsley.
- 1)
Sprinkle paprika on top of the shrimps to add color and earthiness, then grill in a frying pan using 1/2 tsp of olive oil.
- 2)
Mix the soft unsalted butter with 1/2 tsp mild curry, 1/2 tsp paprika, 1/4 chili flakes (to taste/optional) and season with salt and pepper.
- 3)
Spread on squares of brown toast.
- 4)
Top with cumin seeds and chopped parsley.
- 5)
Serve warm.
2: Salmon + lemon zest mustard oregano butter- with capers.
- 1)
Mix the soft unsalted butter with zest of 1 lemon, 1,5 tsp Dijon mustard, 2 tbsp chopped oregano.
- 2)
Spread on rectangle of rye bread.
- 3)
Top with smoked salmon and capers.
- 4)
Serve chilled.
3: Anchovies butter sun-dried tomatoes with goats cheese - zaatar (oregano)
- 1)
Start by mashing the anchovies using a wooden spoon, before mixing in the soft unsalted butter and the chopped tomatoes.
- 2)
Spread on Melba toast.
- 3)
Top with crumbled cheese, sprinkle with zaatar and top with micro greens.
- 4)
Serve chilled.
4: Comté + rocket butter with Olives
- 1)
Mix the soft unsalted butter with the comté.
- 2)
Roughly blend the rocket and the zaatar using a handheld food processor.
- 3)
Add to the butter mix.
- 4)
Spread on crackers.
- 5)
Top with micro greens and olives.
- 6)
Serve chilled.
